Insurance

Services at The Body’s Wisdom are self-pay and payment is due at the time of treatment. The Body’s Wisdom accepts cash, check, all major credit cards, and HSA cards. Services provided by The Body’s Wisdom do not typically follow a “short-term rehabilitation approach.” Therefore, our services may not qualify for insurance reimbursement because of specific insurance requirements. Since we are non-participating with insurance, under very limited circumstances, a patient may be able to submit for direct reimbursement from the insurance carrier.

For Patients who plan to submit to insurance:

  1. It is the responsibility of the patient to contact the insurance company and retrieve all pertinent information.
  2. It is the responsibility of the patient to make sure all the necessary steps are taken to process insurance claims.

Helpful Hints when contacting your insurance company:

Find out if you have “out-of-network” Occupational Therapy benefits. If yes then:
  1. Request the necessary claim forms to submit with the superbill, which will serve as your proof of payment.
  2. Find out if you should fax or mail your claim. If you mail it, it is a good idea to keep a copy for your records.
  3. Find out if you need a doctor’s prescription/referral.
  4. Find out if you have a deductible; ask if it is per person or per family.
  5. Find out what the percent of coverage for out-of-network benefits is (i.e. 80%/20%)
*** Remember when the insurance company reimburses you, it will be minus your percent (i.e.:20%) of their reasonable and customary charge and after your deductible has been met. ***
